September is…
NATIONAL SEWING MONTH
In 1982,President Ronald Reagan made a proclamation declaring a month long celebration “In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.”
This year there is a new logo and a new theme: I create with fabric and thread. What’s your Superpower?
To learn more about the history of national sewing month go to https://www.nationalsewingmonth.org/national-sewing-month-history/
The recreation center where I taught sewing and quilting has closed all senior classes so I don’t have a location that permits me to hold sewing classes or special activities for National Sewing month. It makes me sad that we can’t get together this year but check your local fabric and/or quilting shops for information as to what they may be doing to celebrate. Also remember—–> you can always call a few like minded friends together to sew and share with one another.
Just be creative and have fun!
Be sure to take a moment and share what you’re working on. Remember your ideas and projects can motivate, inspire and encourage others to do great things.
