INTRODUCING….A New Addition to my Family
Today I was gifted a vintage *Viking Sewing Machine*. She’s so beautiful and in really great condition. The only real wear looks to be the locks on the case and they aren’t that bad. I can hardly wait to clean her up, plug her in and hear her hum. I’m so excited!
Over the years I have been given many vintage machines and none of them get put away, left out or forgotten. I care for, maintain, use and cherish each one. They are my babies. Yes, the new computerized machines have lots of bells and whistles and can be wonderful to sew on but there’s nothing like the perfect stitch and soothing clear hum of a vintage jewel.
Greedy me, there are still 3 machines I’d like to have someday. A model 66 Redeye handcranked Singer, an early 1900’s treadle Singer and a Singer model 221 Featherweight. Those 3 would complete my little sewing machine family, though I wouldn’t turn down a Singer model 301 …..there’s always room for one more! ?
I bet someone has one of the above mentioned machines stuck away in a guest room, garage or closet just waiting to come home and live with me. ♥️
