Little girl romper # 1

Well, I got 2 little girl rompers cut out, which is actually 4 since they are reversible, but I only completed one of them.  After getting it done I realized that I needed to remove the lace I had added.  It dawned on me that since the romper was reversible the lace would be in direct contact with the baby’s skin and I didn’t think that was a very good idea.  The lace was soft enough but it could have been itchy or tickley (is that  a word?) for the baby.  So instead of completing the second one I took the first one apart.  I removed the lace and added rick rack and made an applique using a piece cut from the fabric.  For the reverse side I used a little store bought applique that I happened to have in my stash.

I did like the look that the fine thin lace added to the little romper so I may make a couple that aren’t reversible.   That way I won’t have to worry about it bothering the baby.  We’ll see.

It’s time now for me to set my sewing aside and move on to other things.

To one and all:
