New Years Poem 2022

As people rejoice

over another new year

and sounds of revelry

fills the air

my mind wanders upward

to heavenly things

as I consider

what this new year may bring

A closer relationship with my Lord

up above

& more time to share

God’s mercy and love

Hours and days to be your hands

and your feet

As lost, wandering souls

I happen to meet

No new years resolutions to consider

for me

just prayers for the captives

that they be set free

So as fireworks explode

and bright light fills the air

Their salvation, please Lord,

is my fervent prayer.
