One more tote
Today I worked on a tote bag using scraps from the last tote bag I created. I’m always very thrifty but since I really like the music themed fabric I used on the last tote and its no longer available, I didn’t want any of it to go to waste so I decided to use it to applique music notes on a black background. The tiny bits that are left over went into the scrap bag and will be incorporated into my next scrappy quilt 🙂
I started early, but I had one of “those” days where my seam ripper got more use than the sewing machine — (yep…I make mistakes-plenty of them). After having to correct numerous problems that I caused myself by just not paying attention I finally got it finished.
It’s approx. 12 inches tall by 17 inches wide. It has an outside pocket the 7″ x 5″. There are two handles that are about 25″ each. I used unbleached muslin for the lining. For no other reason than embellishment I made a little heart and attached it to one side of one of the handles with a tiny ribbon so it will move and swing freely when the bag is being used.
It’s pretty simple and even though it took all day and lots of “ripping”, I like the way it turned out.
