Preparation and UFO’s

Today has been spent on preparing for the New Beginners Sewing Class that starts this coming Thursday, 8/3/17.  I like to review what I’m going to do in the classes 6 weeks in advance.  I can tweak what needs to be tweaked, make any instructional notes plus I  go over supplies and samples I want to have, etc.

Also I took inventory of all my UFO’s (unfinished objects). I have a stack of  flimsy’s (un-sandwiched, waiting to be quilted, pieced quilt tops) that need to be quilted.  I think I might make half of them as summer quilts (no batting in the middle).  Not only is it quicker, easier and  less expensive but in Vegas a person just doesn’t need all the “warmth” that someone living in a colder climate would need.  I remember my grandmother making summer quilts when she lived in Nashville, TN.

Yes it gets cold there but in the summer it’s hot and humid so a lighter quilt was just the thing.

I think I hear my sewing machine calling me.

It must be  time for me to get back to my sewing room.

smilie winkUntil next time….happy sewing!!
