Ready for class

I finished the project folder for the New Beginners Class.  I like everything neat and tidy for each class.  I also finished putting together the kits for class #1 of the New Beginners Sewing Class.  one classtwoclass

For the first class in sewing I always have the students bring their sewing machines and notions but I provide the fabric and any extras that may be  needed to complete their first project.    During the class I can go over in detail what they will need for the next project.  It’s so much easier and less confusing in person.

I understand how the first class  can be a bit stressful. The person doesn’t know what to expect, they’re possibly meeting new people and attempting to tackle a new skill. My desire is  to make it as UN-stressful as possible.  I want them to be able to  leave that very first class with something they created with their own hands  and feeling good about choosing to attend.  I don’t take lightly that they pay me for the lesson  and make a choice to attend.  I want to give them my best for the trust they have placed in me.

The only thing I still have to do is set up a special page here on my website that will be just for this new class. I like each class to have a page of their own where they can go if they forget what they need for the next project or just to see what is new and/or misc. information from me that they need for their class. Many times I think of something in the wee hours of the morning and I surely don’t want to disturb them with it so I post it on their class page.  I have found that this works out great for both them and me.

excite

I am excited about the new class and hope my excitement is contagious for my students.

I truly enjoy my classes, every one of them.  I am blessed by getting to share what I know with others, by the friendships that are formed, by being able to encourage each student and  watching their eyes light up as they “get it” and by getting to  share  their joy and excitement  when they complete something they never thought they could do.
